How this site works
Everything here starts from the federal wildfire reporting system. Every 15 minutes, we pull the list of active incidents and their mapped perimeters from NIFC/WFIGS and match NASA satellite heat detections to those fires. The live map shows what’s burning near you right now, state pages track every active incident state by state, and each significant fire gets its own page with size, containment, and update history.
